Magpie Eye on Wallpapers

A smorgasbord of wallpaper options - just some of the wonderful wallpapers we have been considering on the layout table in recent months.

I have my eye on this for a hallway in a West London flat where the wider stripe would work better. 'Edwin Stripe' in terracotta from Schumacher. This is available in a rainbow of sophisticated colours.

'Sarah Louise' in two colourways -  'Nigella' and 'Rose' from Imogen Heath would be marvellous for the stairs and landingsthroughout a house. Although it looks quite abstract here, it is in fact a flower motif. I think you could happily hang pictures on this.

One of my particular favourites is 'Bengali' by Pierre Frey. Available in red and ochre too. Any of these colours would make for the dream bedroom, just add some rattan furniture and vintage lighting.

Bloomfield Ink's 'Little Daffodil' in 'hoppoe' colourway would be a confident choice for a dining room or a powder room. This is a beautiful hand blocked wallpaper which makes it extra special.

Ottoline 'Little Lattice' in burnt orange would be a fabulous backdrop in a guest bedroom.Add a large scale floral headboard and you have the beginnings of something sophisticated and comfortable.

Nicole Fabre 'Petite Laure' in 'original' colourway deserves pride of place in a principal bedroom. Sweet dreams are made of this.

I think we have the best job in the world, good interior design does reshape lives not just homes.  As part of that, I love introducing clients to the transformative  power of wallpaper. You can see examples of papers we have used in recent projects via the links below:

A colourful property in Battersea, with layered use of pattern in the guest bedroom.

A Kensington property with 4 different papers resulting in schemes which are bold, colourful but still elegant.
