Considered Rooms
Flexible seating and hidden storage in a room which is colourful and welcoming.
The rooms we design don't just look elegant and inviting, they also address the particular needs of each home owner. To get the full picture look a little closer.
A pied-à-terre urgently needed some personality having been bought from a developer but there were numerous practical considerations too. The sitting room needed to be a multi-use space taking it from a spot to work from home to a relaxing room for just a couple to enjoy, to rowdier family 'sports nights' watching rugby but also flexible enough for entertaining larger groups in comfort for drinks.
An upholstered bench in the window provides extra seating and storage.
the slipper chairs on castors are neat enough to be arranged differently when needed.
the ample sofa has a single seat cushion inviting more than two to sit in comfort.
the two velvet stools are useful 'pulls-ups' for perching or can be foot stools.
the central ottoman is generous offering the occasional pew and can support a drinks tray. It has a useful timber storage shelf below.
custom joinery provides not only a small bar area but conceals a pull-out work station too.
Painted custom joinery hides the pull-out desk and has a spot for a printer, and a large ottoman is both occasional seat or table and has storage below.
It's all carefully considered from the look and feel, which is warm and friendly due to the choice of fabrics and finishes, to the layout which is symmetrical, pleasing and ensures easy circulation, to the furniture choices that ease daily life. This comes from listening to our clients and from them allowing us to follow a process which means at the end of the project no one says, 'why didn't you think of that?' I never want to hear those words.
And we don't just design sitting rooms. We have worked our magic on kitchens, bathrooms, boot rooms, bedrooms, home offices, powder rooms, laundry rooms, 'man caves', media rooms, snugs and a music studio. We can turn our hand to whole house renovations or sometimes just a couple of rooms - from bijoux bolt holes to family homes.
