Whippet Postcards - why not!

A set of four seasonal whippet postcards - now available for purchase on our website.

There is something about the form of a whippet that has always appealed to me. The fine lines, the deep chest, the delicate gate, the character too. We did not have dogs growing up (hamsters, goldfish and many many cats.) But I always knew that if I got a dog one day, it would be a whippet. And nearly 11 years ago, a very small puppy sort of fell in my lap. He changed my world and has been my constant companion ever since. 

My first meeting with a wee whippet, later to be given a proper old man's name- Albert.

Inspired by my beloved whippet, Albert, who is chief rug and furniture tester here at Daw&Co, we commissioned a series of lino cut illustrations to celebrate him. The original artwork was by up-and-coming creative talent, Eve Dickson. There is a whippet for all seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, which you may have seen posted on Instagram at Easter, during the summer holidays, at Halloween and at Christmas. We loved them so much that we are making them available as a set of 4 postcards to buy from our shop. 

We know there are many whippet owners in the world of interior design as confirmed in this article by House&Garden magazine. 

And Country Life magazine ran a most entertaining piece acknowledging that 'At home on the sofa or on the hunting field, whippets are the most elegant of sight hounds.' I couldn't put it better myself.
